Arizona Humanities and ASU bring the Smithsonian to Arizona!

Water/Ways exhibit courtesy Florida Humanities Council
Arizona Humanities and the Walton Sustainability Solutions Initiatives and School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies at Arizona State University are pleased to announce an exclusive Arizona tour of Water/Ways, a traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum on Main Street Program.
Water/Ways focuses on the relationships between people and water. The exhibit enables Arizonans to reflect on the significance of this vital element and their many connections to it. How has water shaped our history and traditions? How does water affect the way we live, work, create, and play? How do we care for water, and how will we sustain it for the future?
Designed for small-town museums, libraries and cultural organizations, Water/Ways will serve as a catalyst to convene conversations about water’s impact on American culture. Host sites develop complementary exhibits, create public programs, and facilitate educational initiatives to deepen people’s understanding about what water means culturally, socially and spiritually in their own community.
